This week, I would like to know more about your experience of lock-down experiences. This can be through a short story based on what you have done - it has to be non fiction - real life, it can be through a poem, a recount or even a letter.
Use the skills that you have learnt over the term in writing to choose your favourite style of writing and use the lock down as your experience.
Create a vocabulary bank that includes ambitious vocabulary to explain your emotions, experiences, thoughts and hopes. Think about using a thesaurus to expand your vocabulary further.
Plan your writing - what is the purpose and who is your audience? Remember to make sure that you are thinking in chronological order eg:
I am writing a poem that explains my emotions and actions during lock down. My audience is not focused to one group but should be read by all who are interested.
Verse 1 = start of the virus
scared, terrified, worried. confused
stay at home
At home, working, worried, teaching my children, hoping for updates
Prime minister ill, now very concerned for everyone in my family who I cannot see
Bored, lonely, sleepy, unmotivated, lazy
house clean, shopping ordered, work being done - no one to talk to and not allowed out
Released from captivity, out in the open, exercise, excitement, joy
riding my horse wind in hair no one there
Lock down is ending - confused, what happens next?
Draft your writing - remember to ensure that your sentences are well punctuated and make sense
